Oral Interpretation
DRAMATIC INTERPRETATION
- A cutting (scene) from a play of literary merit which represents one or more characters.
- Maximum speaking time is 10 minutes (including introduction).
- Manuscripts are to be used.
DRAMATIC DUO INTERPRETATION
- A cutting from a play or plays of literary merit.
- Maximum time limit is 10 minutes (including introduction).
- Manuscripts are to be used.
PROSE INTERPRETATION
- A program of single or multiple selections around a central theme drawn from one or more prose sources. Play cuttings are prohibited.
- Maximum speaking time is 10 minutes (including introduction and transitions).
- Manuscripts are to be used.
POETRY INTERPRETATION
- A program consisting of single or multiple selections around a central theme.
- Maximum speaking time is 10 minutes, including introduction and transitions.
- Manuscripts are to be used.
PROGRAM ORAL INTERPRETATION
- A program of thematically-linked selections chosen from two of the three recognized genres (Prose/Poetry/Drama).
- Maximum speaking time is 10 minutes (including original introduction and transitions).
- Manuscripts are to be used.
