IMPROMPTU SPEAKING

• Topic selection is varied by round using quotations, personalities, events, etc.
• Speech preparation and delivery should not exceed 7 minutes. 
• Time begins when the topic is drawn.

EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING

• Contestants choose one of three topics and have 30 minutes preparation time before each round.
• Maximum speaking time is 7 minutes.
• Notes may be used.
