An Islamic Society (contd.....)
What is intended to be clarified is based on the Sunnah, that Muslims must have the same feeling towards the Islamic thoughts. When Allah (swt) permits marrying up to four wives, some believers become apologetic in the face of criticism. They become embarrassed and go on the defensive that this law is not valid now because there are enough men for the women. These same Muslims, not only feel shame but also ridicule when the word Jihad is mentioned. They condemn the west and yet drink from its fountain of ideas of democracy. A final illustration is how the Muslims in this country (since we live here) feel about those in other parts of the world. Searching our souls reveals that sentiments towards them are not entirely based on Islamic feelings. They are either nationalistic, racial or put plainly, "that is their problem." These demonstrations show that the Islamic society cannot exist without the people carrying the same ideas and sentiments.
The System is the mechanism by which people resolve problems. In the west, this apparatus is created by man (from the people, for the people, and by the people). Having their own system, the western nation, neither borrows from Communism nor from Islam; they realize that taking from any system other than their own definitely marks the demise of their institutions. A good lesson for all to learn from is the plight of Communism. It collapsed when it did not call for its ideas and systems. The question that flashes across one's mind is, what is the system of Islam? Does it exist? It would be ludicrous to answer "no," because it is impossible for a state as large as the Ottoman empire (the Uthmani Khilafah) to rule a country almost twice the size of the US without systems. The Muslims had their own systems. They declined and collapsed when they borrowed from the west.
