Native Americans Together to Insure Our Nations' Sovereignty

We are a student organization at Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb, Illinois.

The organization is open to everyone: students, faculty, staff, and local residents; Native Americans and non-Native Americans; young and old. Our mission is to raise community awareness to Native American cultures, traditions, and current issues. We work both on campus through our annual events and various workshops and in the community by visiting schools to talk about numerous issues in Native American communities, from both historical and contemporary points of view.

Each year, we host a pow wow in the Fall and a conference on Native American issues and culture for educators in the Spring/Summer, when funding is available. To find out even more information on what we have planned, please visit our 'Events page'.

We are currently raising money for a sustainable scholarship fund and are accepting donations. If you would like to make a donation, please visit the 'Scholarship page'.

Thanks to all who partipated in the Tsunami Relief Fundrasier on February 27th! The Southeast Asia Club and the other campus groups raised around $5,000 for Habitat for Humanity!
