SAM Gold & Silver Member Status

In order to recognize exceptional member participation, some SAM members will be recognized as Gold or Silver Members. You can earn Gold or Silver status by participating in SAM activities throughout the year. It is hoped that this system will encourage participation by rewarding and recognizing those who put their time and efforts into our organization.

Gold and Silver Members will receive certificates at the end of each semester. This system will also be used to award the participation award to the one member with the most contributions during a semester.

Gold Members must complete all of the following within a semester:

·       Pay membership dues for the current year in full and on time.

·       Attend SAM member meetings and social events, missing no more than one.

o   Cancelled meetings or events will not be counted.

o   A combined meeting/social event will count as only one meeting.

·       Be an active member of either the Board of Officers or the Planning Committee.

·       Volunteer for service hours. The SAM Board of Officers will determine an appropriate number of service hours each semester, depending upon the number of volunteer opportunities available. The following activities are examples of ways to earn service hours:

o   Cataloging & boxing up books for our annual book drive

o   Manning a membership drive table

o   Participating in a fundraiser

o   Preparation for the Case Competition

o   Serving as a mentor

o   Attending lunch with a Management Department job candidate

o   Attending COB-sponsored speaker events

Silver Members must complete all of the following within a semester:

·       Pay membership dues for the current year in full and on time.

·       Attend SAM member meetings and social events, missing no more than two.

·       Volunteer for service hours.
